Isolation

Isolation is a short film depicting the feelings of those experiencing mental health issues.
 The piece is surreal in nature, not aiming to give a realistic representation of the feelings of isolation.

An unnamed subject wanders along an empty beach; they look stoic, and calm, but inside they are being torn apart.
 They proceed towards the sea, the waves lapping at their feet. They wander out into the water, they stop and stare, they kneel down.
 They drop their head into the water, attempting to drown their self. They realise they are not strong enough to do it, and jump out.
 They stare at the camera, dripping with water, looking stoic and calm.
 They stare at the camera, with the world playing behind them, looking stoic and calm.


Cut in and out of this piece will also be quick shots of the subject in a dark room, thrashing around, yelling out. This is intended to represent their inner emotions, the fact that they are being torn apart inside.
 It also contrasts against the calm, and quiet scenes of the subject on the beach, representing that what they show on the outside is not necessarily how they feel on the inside.

As mentioned before, this piece is intended to represent the feelings of isolation that people feel when they experience mental health issues.
 The shots of the beach will need to be empty, except from the subject (representing the feelings of loneliness), the sky will need to be dark, and cloudy, and the colours will need to be dark, and cold (giving the scene a cold feeling).

This photo is of a girl sitting on a bench, mainly focusing on the girl it could represent loneliness, isolation and sadness.

This photo is of someone writing in a book, mainly focusing on the book it could represent the strength of knowledge, education and working hard. 

This photo is of a cash machine, mainly focusing on the money it could represent wealth, greed and desire.

  

 This photo is of two people laughing, mainly focusing on the facial expressions it could represent friendship, happiness and fun. 

This is a photo of a broken pencil focusing mainly on the pencil it could represent weakness, being broken and feeling fragile or useless.

Change of Hands Induction Task

For our induction task we had to create a mini film to show continuity. Our film was good on continuity throughout most of it but have a few flaws including the change in lighting as we filmed into the evening and also the change of hands scene starts off as Natalie but ends with my hands.

All round i think our film went really well, our editing took a while but it worked and our film was finished on time and the music chosen was perfect for our short film. if we had the chance to do it again i think we would film it earlier for less of a lighting change and to watch out for continuity errors.

Bad Neighbours 2 Review Mark Kermode

Nicholas Stoller has yet again made us all laugh with another great comedy, Neighbours 2. We all thought oh no a sequel to a good film, yes a good film not really good enough for a sequel or so we thought. The film itself was actually hilarious although I must admit most of the good gags were in the trailer, the film as a whole kept us enticed, the film is so stupid it’s smart. Yes it’s not as good as the first film, but it still manages to stay new with fresh ideas still making us all laugh.

The film starts out with Mac (Seth Rogen) and his wife Kelly (Rose Byrne) wanting to tell their house so that they can move on to find a bigger home to increase their family, as in every film something has to go wrong so obviously sone bratty sorority would have to mess things up. Obviously Mac and Kelly want rid of these girls before they start throwing parties meaning no one will buy their house because of noise. It definitely shows how Teddy (Zac Efron) has grown up from the last Neighbours film, the film shows how Teddy (Zac Efron) -who once was part of a fraternity in the same house the sorority girls including Morgan (Chloë Grace Moretz) would like to live in- is helping his ex-neighbours out by maturing just enough to act like an adult to stop this sorority from quite literally rising.

Each character is not only funny in their own way but the actors themselves bring their real humour to our screens and it’s gut-busting to say the least.

Teddy as a character knows how to deal with Morgan as he was basically her before he grew up, Stoller really shows the maturity but still childish type actions that cause Teddy to still be in the state of mind of someone in a sorority or fraternity.

The merge of utter stupidity into comedy proves to be a key feature to the popularity of this film, it’s not your typical comedy it’s as original as you make it, definitely worth the watch.
